WQB Mold Removal is a Martinsville, VA-based remediation company built around one idea: tell the customer the truth about what's in their walls, then fix it properly the first time.
Our field techs are equipped with negative-air machines, HEPA filtration units, and borescopes for checking inside wall cavities without tearing the whole thing open unnecessarily.
Licensed, insured, and background-checked before they ever knock on your door, our team treats your home like it's the one they'd want worked on.
Ask any Martinsville property manager who's dealt with a bad remediation job and they'll tell you the same thing: the difference isn't the chemicals, it's whether the crew actually found and fixed the moisture source instead of just spraying the visible mold and leaving.
Beyond the remediation itself, we can coordinate with your insurance adjuster and provide the paperwork most Martinsville, VA carriers expect for a mold-related claim.
Here's what our technicians hear most often right before a homeowner finally picks up the phone.
If a room smells like a wet basement no matter how much you air it out, mold is the most likely culprit. Our technicians can often narrow down the general location just from where the odor is strongest before ever opening a wall.
Any Martinsville property with a prior roof leak, burst pipe, or flooding event is at higher risk if the drying wasn't done professionally. We can check behind an old repair with a moisture meter in under an hour to put your mind at ease either way.
Children and older family members often show symptoms first, since they're more sensitive to airborne spores. Air quality testing can confirm or rule out mold as the cause before you spend money chasing the wrong culprit.
Green, black, or gray speckling around windows, vents, or baseboards is often just the visible tip of a larger colony. Don't assume a small visible patch means a small problem — the portion behind the drywall is often much larger.
From a single bathroom to a flooded crawl space, our Martinsville crews scale the response to match the actual problem.
When a burst pipe or roof failure floods a Martinsville property overnight, our on-call crew can be dispatched before the sun comes up. Extraction equipment and industrial dehumidifiers go in immediately to slow the moisture before it ever has a chance to seed a new colony.
We isolate the affected area with plastic sheeting and negative air pressure so spores don't spread to the rest of your Martinsville home during the work. We'll also flag any structural repair the job needs and put you in touch with a trusted Martinsville tradesperson if it's outside our scope.
We provide documentation packages commercial clients can hand directly to insurers or tenants. Multi-tenant properties in Martinsville sometimes need coordinated notice to residents or staff, and our project leads handle that communication directly.
Lab results typically come back within a few business days, giving you documented proof of what was found. A written inspection report is available for real estate transactions, refinancing, or your own peace of mind about a Martinsville property.
These tight spaces require specialized equipment and technicians trained to work safely in confined areas. Encapsulation and sump correction can be bundled with the remediation itself so you're not paying for two separate visits.
Dehumidification recommendations and moisture monitoring can keep a treated space from becoming a repeat customer. Some Martinsville, VA clients set up an annual moisture check with us, especially in older homes with a history of basement dampness.
We keep the process simple enough to explain over the phone in under two minutes.
A quick phone conversation helps us bring the right equipment on the first visit instead of a second trip. Photos texted ahead of time can help us prep faster.
We walk the property with a moisture meter and, when needed, take air or surface samples for lab analysis. We point out exactly what we're seeing as we go, not just at the end.
Containment barriers go up first, then affected materials are removed, treated, and HEPA-vacuumed according to industry protocol. Daily progress updates are available if you're not on-site during the work.
You'll get a written report you can keep for your records or share with an insurer. We'll also walk the space with you so nothing gets signed off without your input.
We quote a flat rate before any work begins, so there's no surprise invoice waiting for you at the end.
We keep a dedicated crew covering Martinsville, VA so response times don't balloon during peak humidity season.
We hand you lab results and a written scope of work, giving you something concrete beyond our word.
And if something doesn't sit right after we leave, our satisfaction guarantee means we come back and make it right at no extra charge.
We also try to be upfront about what we can't fix on day one — if a Martinsville home has an underlying roof or plumbing issue causing repeat moisture intrusion, we'll say so plainly instead of quietly re-treating the same spot every year.
Word of mouth is still how most of our Martinsville, VA customers find us, which tells you something about how the last job usually goes.
We stand behind every remediation job with a written guarantee, not just a handshake, because your peace of mind matters as much as the finished work.

If you're within our Martinsville service radius, same-day response is usually available. Our routing is built around Martinsville, so we know the local neighborhoods, HOA requirements, and typical building styles rather than treating every address the same.

The questions we hear before nearly every job.
Response time depends on scheduling load, but same-day or next-morning arrival is typical for Martinsville, VA service areas. Weekend and holiday calls are still answered by our on-call dispatcher rather than routed to voicemail.
We quote the full scope up front after inspection, and that number doesn't change unless the scope does. If we discover additional damage once we open a wall, we'll stop and get your approval before doing any extra work or adding any cost.
Our on-call crew handles active flooding, sewage backups, and sudden mold discovery around the clock, including nights and weekends. Emergency visits include temporary containment to keep the problem from spreading while the full remediation plan is put together.
Testing typically takes a few business days, and you receive a written lab report with the results. Knowing the species matters because some, like Stachybotrys, call for stricter containment protocols than common surface mildew.
Some policies cover mold tied to a sudden pipe burst but exclude long-term humidity issues, so it's worth checking your specific policy language. We're glad to speak directly with your adjuster if that helps move your Martinsville claim along faster.
Timeline depends on the square footage affected and whether structural materials need to be removed and replaced. Drying time after water extraction can add a day or two before remediation itself even starts, depending on how saturated the materials were.
Anyone with asthma or mold sensitivities may want to arrange alternate accommodations during larger jobs, and we'll advise based on scope. We'll always tell you honestly if we think you should stay elsewhere rather than downplay it to keep the job simpler on our end.
We recommend keeping children and pets away from the containment zone until the area passes clearance testing. HEPA filtration during the job significantly reduces airborne spore counts outside the sealed work area.
Every job addresses the moisture source, not just the visible growth, because treating symptoms without fixing the cause almost guarantees regrowth. If the same conditions caused a prior remediation to fail, we'll flag that risk clearly before starting the new job.
Our dispatcher can walk you through what an initial visit includes when you call to schedule. Even a phone consultation before scheduling can help you understand whether what you're seeing warrants a visit.
"Removal" implies eliminating all mold entirely, which isn't realistic since spores exist naturally everywhere, while "remediation" means returning spore levels to a normal, safe range. Any company promising 100% mold removal is stretching the truth, since outdoor and indoor air both naturally carry some spore count.
Surface cleaning with bleach may remove visible staining but rarely reaches spores embedded in porous materials like drywall or subfloor. Bleach also doesn't address whatever moisture condition allowed mold to grow in the first place, so the same spot often returns within weeks.
